Download Help

What is the IIS Download Center?

The Download Center is your single source for Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) tools, samples, extensions, filters and modules created by Microsoft and the global IIS community.

Developers can contribute to the IIS community by adding information about your downloads in the DownloadCENTER. Subsequently, end users have the ability to quickly search, browse and review any download in the system.

If you have IIS tools, samples, extensions, filters or modules you'd like to share with the IIS community, please join and contribute them to the DownloadCENTER. It is a great way to drive sales, receive exposure and contribute to the IIS community.

Help Searching

The Download Center offers a comprehensive search for all download items in our current database. This database includes downloads entered by the community, IIS strategic partners, and the IIS Team. Beyond that, the DownloadCENTER also offers access to downloads currently in the Microsoft Download Center. DownloadCENTER does not replace Microsoft's Download Center, but instead, offers a single source for all IIS downloads from Microsoft and the IIS community.

IIS.NET's search engine is powered by DotLucene technology and will support simple and advanced queries. If you fail to find a download you are looking for, we suggest that you review advanced queries and try a different search technique. You may also locate what you are looking for using the DownloadCENTER's Browse functionality.

Help Contributing

There are very few requirements to submit downloads to the DownloadCENTER. This is by design to offer the simplest system for sharing all of your hard work with the IIS community. In case you have problems during the submission process, we hope to address them here.

Do I have to create an account on IIS.NET to submit a download?

Yes, this is for your protection and our security as well. In order to have a robust ratings & review system, we must require some level of authenticity to submitted downloads to the DownloadCENTER. The most efficient method for doing this is to ask you to sign-in or join the Microsoft community of sites.

Does Microsoft host my bits?

No, Microsoft does not host your solutions on Microsoft servers. Instead, you are responsible for creating a profile then you use our contributor's form to submit metadata, such as the URL where your bits are physically hosted, to the DownloadCENTER. Each of these individual download pages offers users a link to your download, information about the download and the ability to rate and review your download.

What is the "profile" link on the Contributor's My Links do?

We realize that many of you contributing to our system might not have the time or resources to create a individual page dedicated to sharing with the community who you are. It isn't recommended that anyone download bits and use them in production without first knowing some minimal information such as the owner, support options, and contact information. With the IIS.NET DownloadCENTER profile, you can provide all of this information and let us worry about buliding an attractive page to display to potential users. Get started today by filling out your profile!
